Geyer proposed a different planning solution with centralised built zones to 2 sides of the core and 2 large elastic open plan areas in order to maximise the open floorplate for churn and to break down silos. Existing workstations were retained and modified with a transition from offices to open plan working. Geyer supported Worksafe through this transition as there were concerns around workstation footprint size and acoustics.

Our design solution significantly increased the number of enclosed meeting spaces as well as meeting tables in the open work area for team collaboration.  Every floor was also provided with quiet rooms and breakout spaces with informal meeting areas. A dedicated client floor was designed to provide a more professional interface with Worksafe clients and visitors. The solution was benchmarked against safe workplace practices - OHS/DDA minimisation strategies were implemented to design out potential issues. Geyer attended regular OHS focus groups to identify and formulate strategies to minimize and manage OHS issues.

Worksafe’s values and vision were incorporated into interior environment through planning solutions, concept resolution and environmental graphics. The design provided well being facilities for Worksafe employees including the addition of external well being facilities including a communal garden on level 7.

Works were undertaken while client was in occupation and a concurrent base building upgrade was undertaken on behalf of the building owner.

This project has been submitted for accreditation for a 5 Star Green Star As Built, Office Rating.
