The Clarendon Hotel was looking to differentiate the venue from surrounding competitors and appeal to high-end customers base. The owners of the hotel wished to transform their “traditional pub’ into a contemporary hospitality venue aligning with their gastronomic vision of serving quality home-grown produce.
The concept behind The Clarendon Hotel design was the aspect of ‘My Place’. The solution draws on the domestic language of the home with references to household spaces and activities such as the kitchen, dining, lounge and study areas. A fundamental element of the design was the use of strong colours. Vibrantly coloured, quirky pieces of furniture are set against monochromatic backdrops. Geyer developed the fitout solution to sit within the existing architecture of the building and therefore the heritage architecture is respected and retained.
