Geyer and Blake Thornton-Smith have merged into one collaborative organisation. From 01 July 2008, Blake Thornton Smith will be known as Geyer.

Blake Thornton-Smith (BTS) has been delivering high end design solutions in Perth for more than 20 years. With proven expertise across a broad range of industry sectors, BTS has made a significant contribution to the design landscape nationally.

Over the past decade, BTS and Geyer have developed a strategic partnership, driven by a mutual appreciation for their respective design philosophies and solutions, and a common people focused culture. During this time, they have successfully collaborated on a range of projects including landmark accommodation solutions for Woodside and Ernst & Young.

 

 

This merger, bringing together two of Australia’s leading design firms, will bring a greater depth of support and design excellence to clients regionally commensurate with a focus on long-term client relationships and support the firm’s continued growth within the Asia Pacific region. Geyer’s combined studios are already collaborating on their first project since the merger, having been appointed to work with Bank Muscat to develop the interior design concept for their 30,000sqm headquarters in Oman.

The Perth studio will continue to be pioneered by Ben Blake and Kim Thornton-Smith supported by the established team driving Geyer’s strategic approach and commitment to innovative and creative outcomes. Ben and Kim will further develop Geyer’s presence in Perth, with continued commissions on key projects, providing major organisations in the market with a multidisciplinary and holistic approach.
